Suppliers Of Top Hat Glands And Insulating Kits For MV Terminations

Medium Voltage Terminations are supplied by ETS in kit form, which will include the actual termination, Screen earthing kits, Bushing boots and lugs. Also provided – if the cable is armoured – will be an item known as a ‘Top hat’ gland. 

These tubular glands are supplied, manufactured from either mild steel, for SWA cables, or Aluminium for AWA cables. Their function is to provide an effective moisture seal and to earth the cable armour wires. Top hat glands are also available to accommodate Triplex, single-core cables being terminated into a single equipment opening.

We also supply Gland insulation kits, which are suitable for instances where the cable gland (and armour wire) need to be insulated from the equipment entry or when a dedicated earthing facility is required.

These kits typically contain one insulating plate, for installation between the gland and termination box, nylon set screws with nylon hexagon nuts and washers.
