Throughout June, ETS Cable Components were delighted to be able to help and support Morgan Sindall Infrastructure with their community engagement program at Cockermouth School in Cumbria.

Morgan Sindall hosted a series of supply chain workshops at the school, along with the help of Steve Clement, from ETS, Gemma Jackson from MITIE and Rachel Young from Sellafield.

The supply chain workshop series helped pupils to gain a better understanding of supply chains and the job opportunities within them. During these sessions, individuals representing companies from Morgan Sindall’s supply chain were invited to speak to the students to tell them about their company’s role on some of the large infrastructure projects, with the aim being to help pupils understand the different jobs and career prospects that could be available to them once they leave full time education.

ETS are committed to contributing to a sustainable future for all and will be supporting other community engagement initiatives throughout the year via our regional offices.

This expansion will give us direct access to better serve our customers in the EU. 

ETS first supplied cable accessories in 1988 ago and it became clear that there is strong demand in developing areas in Europe. Since then, we distribute many products to Europe and support a wide range of businesses in Ireland and the continent. Ireland is the ideal place to expand our reach in Europe and better serve our customers due a strong market and great links to the mainland. We’re excited to be able to continue our very high levels of service to our European customers. 

The move is the latest in a long line of expansion projects since ETS was set up. Here is a timeline of our expansion throughout the UK and Europe:

• Incorporated in 1988 in Porstmouth England.
• Opened up a London branch in 1991 
• Seven years later we moved to our purpose-built premises in Tolworth
• In 2009 we opened our Midlands office in Lichfield
• Our Midlands office later moved in 2014 to Rugeley
• Opened up our first European office in Ireland

Simply navigate to your product, change your quantity requirements and click ‘add to quote.’ Upon navigating to the request a quote page, your chosen products will be listed. Simply fill out the form with your details and we will send you a quote for your requested products. 
• Catalogue requests – interested in viewing our full digital catalogue? You can now order your catalogue online here. Your catalogue will be provided on a USB stick. Featuring colour images and diagrams, our catalogue displays our cable glands, joints, cleats, terminations and thousands of other products to suit all your cable equipment and accessory needs.

ETS Cable Components, the UK’s largest and longest serving distributor for Nexans Power Accessories are pleased to invite you to attend the ‘Nexans Power Accessories Technology Day and New Product Launch’.

This event will take place:

• on the 10th and 11th December, providing the flexibility for you to attend either day
• @ Nexans Training Centre in Normanton, West Yorkshire WF6 1TR

Over the 2 day period, we will carry out product demonstrations on the NEW JTS Heat shrink Joint, Separable Connectors, Cold Applied products & the new GRP Junction Box. Our staff will be on hand to provide full technical product support for all of the Nexans Power Accessories up to 72.5kV.

In addition Competency Test demonstrations will be carried out within Nexans fully shielded test facility.

Breakfast, lunch & refreshments will be provided to make the day comfortable.

ETS Cable Components have teamed up with
tool manufacturer Ripley, to give away one of their new Utility tools, the US02-7000

This new tool has already received praise from both users and cable jointing training schools for its ease of use.
The US02 quickly and easily removes bonded semi-conductive material from and is suitable for both low and medium voltage power cables. Its unique blade shape preserves the smooth surface on insulation, eliminating the need for deburring or additional surface finishing.
Its optimal stability design securely supports cables with diameters from 18 mm to 60 mm throughout the ‘shaving’ operation of the cable preparation process, prior to jointing or terminating.
