Birkett Resin Filled Branch Cable Joints

Birkett’s premium range of Low Voltage (LV) branch joint kits are suitable for both cut and uncut mains cables. Featuring a two-part polyurethane enclosed SWISHPAK resin mixing system to minimise wastage.

Representing the largest and most versatile joint shells on the market, these resin joints are designed to enable core-crossing and are suitable for use with BC and DMBC ranges of mechanical branch connectors (available as separate items).

These resin branch joints are suitable for all EPR, PE or XLPE insulated, PVC or LSF outer sheathed SWA cables as well as Lead (Pb) sheathed and PILC cables (additional earthing required). Variants also available for CNE, waveform or braided armour cables.

Each Birkett branch joint kit includes: two-part transparent mould, SWISHPAK resin pack/s, armour continuity braids, under-armour support rings, worm-drive clips, mastic tape and full installation instructions.

E2WF Brass Flameproof (ATEX) Cable Glands

E2WF brass cable glands from CMP are flameproof, ATEX certified Hazardous Area brass glands suitable for use with all lead sheath (Pb) and steel wire armoured (SWA) cables within CAT 2 (EExd Zone 1) and CAT 3 (EExd Zone 2) Hazardous Areas. E2WF glands provide an IP66 Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) environmental seals onto the cable’s inner and outer sheaths.

Mechanical armour wire retention and electrical continuity is provided by a detachable armour cone and AnyWay universal clamping ring, which allows for easy removal of the gland body for testing without disturbing the clamping arrangement. Lead Sheath (Pb) earthing facility is provided by a brass clamping ring at the inner sealing area.

Lead sheathed E2WF glands are manufactured as standard from high quality brass grade CuZn39Ob3 to CW614N, other materials are also available to order.

Order reference includes E2WF gland, brass locknut, brass earthtag and PVC shroud.

Insulated Integral Earth Aluminium Cable Glands – CMP A324

ZEN insulated aluminium cable gland suitable for use with single-core aluminium wire armoured (AWA) power cables for either indoor or outdoor environments. The A324 gland features a cast integral earth lug (CIEL) which permits the zoning of earth connections for earthed neutral systems.

Provides an IP66 environmental seal on the cable outer sheath and at the equipment entry. The two-part insulated component, which secures the gland to the equipment, maintains the IP66 rating without the need for additional sealing washers.

Order reference includes A324 insulated gland and aluminium locknut. PVC and LSZH gland shrouds available separately if required.

Insulated Integral Earth Brass Cable Glands – CMP B327

ZEN insulated brass cable gland for use with all screened steel wire armoured (SWA) cables within indoor or outdoor environments. Providing an IP66 environmental seal on the cable outer sheath and at the equipment entry.

The B327 gland features a cast integral earth lug (CIEL) which permits the zoning of earth connections for earthed neutral systems.

The ZEN concept negates the need for additional sealing washers to maintain the IP66 rating onto the equipment.

Order references includes one B327 insulated cable gland and brass locknut. Shrouds available separately if required.

Insulated Integral Earth Brass Cable Glands – CMP B324

CMP ZEN insulated brass cable glands featuring cast integral earth lug (CIEL), for use with all steel wire armoured (SWA) cables in both indoor and outdoor environments. The B324 cable gland effectively insulates the gland and cable armour from the equipment.

The CIEL permits the zoning of earth connections for earthed neutral systems. Provides an IP66 environmental seal on the cable outer sheath and at the equipment entry.

Order reference includes one B324 Zen gland and brass locknut. Gland shrouds are available separately if required.

CW Aluminium Integral Earth Cable Glands

by

CMP CW CIEL aluminium earthing gland suitable for use with all aluminium wire armoured (AWA) cables for either indoor or outdoor environments. Featuring a cast integral earth lug (CIEL) for electrical continuity of the cable’s armouring, particulary suitable for use with single-core 11kV – 33kV cables where a high level of protection from fault currents may be advantageous. The CW CIEL gland also provides an IP66 seal to the cable’s outer sheath.

Mechanical armour wire retention and electrical continuity of the AWA is provided by an armour cone and separate clamping ring, which allows for each removal of the gland body for testing without disturbing the clamping arrangement. The metric threads are rated at IP54, which can be increased to IP66 with a nylon thread washer.

All CMP CW CIEL ALM glands are manufactured from high quality aluminium alloy grade BS1474/1 6082/HE30.

Order reference includes cable gland only, please order locknuts, shrouds and other accessories separately.
