TE Connectivity Heat Shrink Gland Kits

TE Connectivity heat shrink gland or “Top Hat” gland kits are manufactured from either galvanised mild steel (1605, 1606 & 1607) or aluminium sheet (1608), with heat-shrinkable outer shroud and worm drive connection to the cable armour wires.

These tubular TE Connectivity glands provide an effective moisture seal around the cable sheath and earth the cable armour wires. The gland fixings are made to match the stud spacings of specified in BS2562.

EAKT 1605, 1606 & 1607: suitable for three-core (3core) SWA cables up to 36kV. Supplied with integral earthing facility.

EAKT 1608: suitable for single-core AWA cables up to 36kV.

Nexans Gland Insulating Kits

Nexans insulating kits are designed for use with Nexans heat shrink (top hat) glands. Suitable for instances where the cable gland (and armour wire) need to be insulated from the equipment entry or when a dedicated earthing facility is required.

Each Nexans gland insulating kit contains one insulating plate, for installation between the gland and termination box, nylon set screws with nylon hexagon nuts and washers.

When installing with HSGK 3 aluminium top hat gland kits, please note that three IG1 kits are required per gland kit.

Nexans Heat Shrink Gland Kits

Nexans tubular gland kits (also known as “Top Hat” glands) provide an effective moisture seal around the cable outer sheath, earth the cable armour wires and provide a means of grounding the solderless earth screen braids if present.

  • HSGK 1 features dual BS2562 X and Y fixings and suitable for 16-95mm2 three-core (3core) Steel Wire Armour (SWA) cables up to 17.5kV. Supplied with an integral M10 earthing facility.
  • HSGK 2 features BS2562 Y fixings and suitable for all larger three-core (3core) Steel Wire Armour (SWA) cables up to 36kV. Supplied with an integral M10 earthing facility.
  • HSGK 3 are supplied in sets of three phases and feature BS2562 X fixings and are suitable all single-core (1core) Aluminium Wire Armour (AWA) cables up to 36kV.
  • HSGK 2-TRIPLEX is specially designed to accommodate Triplex, single-core cables being terminated into a single equipment opening. Features BS2562 Y fixings and a three-core heatshrink cable breakout which effectively seals the cable interstices at the equipment entry point.

    • All HSGK gland components are available for separate sale. Please contact our Sales Team if you require additional heatshrink shrouds, worm-drive clips etc.
