Emperor Stainless Steel Trefoil Cable Cleats

The trefoil variant of the Ellis Patents Emperor cable cleats represent an exceptionally strong, high-specification stainless steel cable cleat designed for installation within the most harsh and demanding of environments.

Approved for use throughout the London Underground network, power transmission networks World-wide and the Petrochemical industry, the Emperor trefoil cleat is renowned for being the de-facto trefoil cleat for single-core cables upto 132kV.

The trefoil variant of the Ellis Patents Emperor cable cleat represents an exceptionally strong, high-specification stainless steel cable cleat designed for installation within the most harsh and demanding of environments.

The Emperor range is manufactured from marine-grade 316L stainless steel with A4 fixings and a LSF Zero Halogen (LSZH) cable protection liner which cushions and protects the cables in the event of a short-circuit occurring.

The preferred trefoil cleat throughout the World for both on-shore and off-shore windfarm installations due to its high strength and extremely high short-circuit capability. The Emperor also features a wide-opening hinge and side-fixing closure bolt enabling easy cable installation, compactness and has a dual-fixing options a standard, enabling either single bolt (M12) or two bolt (M10) fixing options.

    • Meets the International Standard IEC 61914:2009.
    • Short circuit withstand test: 74kA RMS (156kA peak) on 600mm centres.
    • Short circuit withstand test: 80kA RMS (195kA peak) on 300mm centres.
    • Conforms to London Underground Engineering Standard 1-085. Product Approval Register No: 362.

To be used with Ellis Emperor trefoil cable cleats, ProTect short-circuit cable straps are available.

 

FlexiStrap Trefoil Cable Strap – Heavy Duty

Designed to augment installation of the Ellis Emperor range of stainless steel trefoil cleats, heavy-duty variant of the stainless steel Ellis FlexiStraps are also
available.

 

M10 and M12 trefoil cleat fixing kits

Both M10 and M12 trefoil cleat fixing kits can be ordered. Enabling easy fixing of the cleat to 41mm wide steel channel or cable ladder rungs. If securing the cleat via 2 x M10 bolts please order 2 fixing kits.

Colossus Transmission Cable Trefoil Cleats

The Colossus cleat represents a new hybrid cleat setting the standard for the support of transmission cables in trefoil formation upto 132kV. An extra-wide LSF Zero Halogen (LSZH) base provides a large surface area to support and grip the cables, whilst excellent strength is provided by a 316L stainless steel over-strap which encompasses the cleat/cable arrangement.

With the cleat depth increasing the greater the cable diameter, Colossus is better-able to support large diameter (ergo, heavier) cables and represents the best quaility product on the market today.

  • Short circuit withstand test: 104kA peak on 7.8mts centres, with intermediate straps every 1.3mts.
  • Meets the International Standard IEC 61914:2009.
  • Variant available which features a curved saddle design allowing an element of “cable sag” for installations with large fixing distances, typically from 3-8 metres.

Colossus Transmission Cable Trefoil Cleat (142-170mm OD)

The Colossus COL142-170 cleat represents a new hybrid cleat setting the standard for the support of transmission cables in trefoil formation upto 132kV. An 150mm wide LSF Zero Halogen (LSZH) base provides a large surface area to support and grip the cables, whilst excellent strength is provided by the 316L stainless steel over-strap which encompasses the cleat/cable arrangement.

  • Trefoil cable outside diameter range: 142-170mm
  • Cleat width: 390mm
  • Cleat height: 371mm
  • Cleat depth: 150mm
  • Fixing holes: 2 x M12
  • Meets the International Standard IEC 61914:2009.
  • Short circuit withstand test: 104kA peak on 7.8mts centres, with intermediate straps every 1.3mts.
